How To Clean A Shoei Helmet

Anyone have any good tips for cleaning the removable helmet liners from an X-11?
Can I just throw them in the washer? I have a front loader with no agitator if i matters.

I pull the lining out of the Z-IIs and let the SO wash by hand in a pan with mild detergent (thanks , Dear). Wash, rinse, repeat. Use little or no fabric softener as the 'scent' can be overpowering in the heat with a closed visor...

I have an HJC Sy-Max with the removable liners. I remove them carefully (trying to remember how they go back together
) and hand wash them with a mild soap and let them air dry. I've done it once already this year and after a couple of HOT rides, it is time again. It is Fall, right?

Remove the liner and hand wash. Not sure about the d/washer but that and the washing machine are hard on the foam. After washing a couple times[in a mach.] the liner will start getting kinda rough. After the helmet is 2yrs old they most likely won't sell you a new liner[structural integrity issues they say]

I have an X-11 too. I pull the liner and fill a pail with a gallon or so of water and whatever soap we are using on clothes this week. Submerge the pads and push them to the bottom of the pail. Compress and release the foam forcing water in and out of the foam for a few minutes and then repeat a couple of times with clear water. Air dry and reassemble. A shot of Febreeze is always nice as well.

I just do the HJC liner in the sink with a drop of laundry detergent, rinse thoroughly, and sit it outside to dry. Elminates that whiff of chum-bucket every time
