Simple mini doughnuts

Got a doughnut maker but can't find a good recipe? Well this may be it. This mixture cooks your doughnuts just like they've been fried instead of baked, crispy on the outside yet fluffy and airy inside.

Ingredients
Makes: 24mini doughnuts

125g plain flour
150g caster sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 egg
120ml milk
1 tablespoon butter
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 tablespoons vegetable oil

Method
Prep:20 min › Cook:6 min › Ready in:26 min

In a mixing bowl, combine the dry ingredients together. Add egg, milk, butter and vanilla and stir in. Add oil and continue to stir.
Preheat your doughnut maker and grease as necessary.
Pour in the mixture and cook for 3 to 5 minutes. Remove from the doughnut maker, sprinkle with sugar and enjoy!

Tip

Great recipe. They were lovely and light. My daughter, Lauren has had a donut maker for two years but not used it much. Now we have this recipe we'll definitely do a batch for our Macmillan coffee morning this year. Decorated them in chocolate, colourful icing and hundreds and thousands. - 21 May 2018

Wow! Made 28 mini donuts with this recipe. I had a mini donut maker quite a few years ago and it ended up being chucked because we just couldn't get any decent recipes to work with it. Got a new donut maker a couple of days ago and tried it tonight. After the first 14 were made, we started tucking in and they were almost gone straight away. I told Hubby that I'll make a load for him to take in to his colleagues tomorrow night, I reckon 100 donuts should do it! - 01 Sep 2017
